Kentucky is part of the Southeast Conservation District Region and employees are encouraged to participate in SECDEA activities. Other states in the SECDEA include Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, and Mississippi. (Georgia does not have a DEA in their state at this time.) KACDE is a member of the SECDEA. Kentucky is represented in many ways with the SECDEA. Martha Newby (Woodford County) is the SECDEA Secretary. Linda Smith (Allen County) serves on the board as Kentucky's DEA President. Every year over 20 employees from Kentucky attend the SECDEA Conference in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. SECDEA Mid-year Board Meeting

Many thanks to all that purchased a raffle ticket. The winning ticket was drawn at the mid-year SE NACD Meeting in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Conservation Quilt was hand-made & hand quilted by Ed Young (85 yrs. young) of Boyd County, Kentucky.
The Blue in this quilt represents the sky and water.
The Brown represents the soil.
The Green represents the trees and the grass.
The Red and Yellow represents the flowers.
And the Cream colored blocks represents the highways and byways.
